Zhijun Cai
General Manager
CCTV Animation
An experienced animation director and producer, Zhijun Cai is General Manager of CCTV Animation. In addition, serves as Secretary-General of the China Animation Association and a post-graduate supervisor at the Communication University of China, and has judged the China Animation Achievement Awards, the Monkey King Awards, the Aniwow!-China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival, and KOCCA’s “Outstanding Animations” project.
Under Mr. Cai’s management, CCTV Animation has produced epic franchises such as The Legend of Nezha, Adventures of Little Carp and Monkey King, and the award-winning animation series Go Calf!. His work has been broadcast on Nickelodeon and Disney in Asia, and has won many awards in China and abroad, including Asia-Pacific Animation Festival Gold Awards, China Animation Achievement Awards, Five-One Project Awards, Golden Eagle Awards, Outstanding Children Awards, Monkey King Awards, and Gold Panda Awards.
For his talent and contribution to China’s animation development, Mr. Cai was named a National Top 10 Creative Talent (Animation), Best Animation Director at the 17th Golden Eagle Awards. He is also included on 2012’s official lists of Influential People of China Creative Industry and Leading Figures of China Cultural and Creative Industry, and he was presented with an Excellent Achievement Award of China Creative Industrial Development that same year.
