Kevin Mowrer

Mowrer Meta-story

As principal at consulting firm Mowrer Meta-story, Kevin Mowrer has developed a broad reputation as a thought-leader in understanding why audiences/consumers “use” stories. He developed the proprietary Meta-story process to analyze and craft commercial franchise stories, drawing on his 35-plus years of experience in creating for the family entertainment and consumer products markets across all platforms.

Kevin’s present clients include DreamWorks Animation, Mattel, Fisher-Price, Warner Bros., Topps Entertainment and DC Comics.

His background includes a stint as Hasbro’s senior executive for R&D across all toy categories. He also founded the toyco’s fantasy factory, a center for development and management of Hasbro’s wholly owned IPs. Kevin’s responsibilities at the company included the evaluation of all potential entertainment licenses, analysis of their narrative strengths, and the development of products/experiences for them. As such, he worked on Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony, Tonka, in television, film, publishing, gaming, toys and consumer products.

Kevin has also been significantly involved in the start-up world, through several roles and board seats at mobile content start-ups and new make-on-demand 3D gaming companies, such as Imagimod.

During Kevin’s career, he has been awarded two Emmys and a Gemini. And he is also the holder of a number of play product innovation patents.
